UT Tyler Announces New Name for Student Information System
April 15, 2010
The University of Texas at Tyler has a new name for its student information system.
Students, parents, faculty and staff will log into the myUTTyler portal, formerly POPS, to access student information.
“From myUTTyler, the student center provides an overview of the student’s information and quick links to more detailed information,” said LaTonya McCoy, UT Tyler registrar.
Under the student center link, students can register for classes and check course availability or class schedules. They also can view academic advising reports, unofficial transcripts and grades, admission status as well as accept financial aid and pay tuition and fee bills, she added.
“We completed the implementation of the PeopleSoft Campus Solutions system in August 2009. It has been a tremendous two-year effort for those involved, and we are planning additional functionality to further enhance the system,” said Dr. Sherri Whatley, vice president for technology and chief information officer.
Patriots on PeopleSoft, or POPS, was the working name for the planning and implementation phase of the project. The new name comes as a part of the marketing phase of the project.
myUTTyler is similar to the recognizable campus names of most university student information systems.
A new Web page, www.uttyler.edu/myuttyler, will soon provide updates, announcements and information.
