Learning Outside the Classroom

In the community health nursing course, nursing students visit clinical agencies to learn the concepts of community health concepts. They also learn to identify common characteristics of groups of people and plan and provide nursing interventions that promote wellness and positive health behaviors.
Twenty-five local agencies partner with UT Tyler to provide than 70 students in Tyler access to complete 112.5 clinical hours for course requirements.
