UT Tyler welcomed area educational leaders and elected officials from Kazakhstan during an education delegation Sept. 16 on campus.
The event was sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Tyler/Smith County and Open World Leadership Center, which is a program of the U.S. Congress.
The delegation discussed K-12 financial accountability, the Academic Excellence Indicator System and academic remediation guidelines.
Participants included Dr. Vance Vaughn, UT Tyler assistant professor of educational leadership; Dr. Marcus Stadelmann, UT Tyler Department of Political Science chair; Dr. Robert Sterken, UT Tyler assistant provost for international programs and associate professor of political science; and Dr. James Nelson, UT Tyler College of Engineering and Computer Science dean as well as the superintendents from Lindale and Winona Independent School Districts.
