University Health Clinic Offers 2009 Flu Shot Clinics, Prescription Service
August 25, 2009
The UT Tyler University Health Clinic will offer flu shot clinics and a new student prescription service beginning the fall 2009 semester.
A daily delivery of prescriptions to the clinic will allow students who were prescribed a medication at the clinic prior to 2 p.m. the convenience to pick up the medication by 4 p.m. the same day.
“Many of the prescriptions are very competitively priced,” said Ida MacDonald, student services director. “Medications and cost of each will be posted on the University Health Clinic
Web site, http://www.uttyler.edu/clinic/, in the next few weeks.”
Beginning in October, flu shots will be available 8 a.m. – noon and 1 – 5 p.m. Monday – Friday at the clinic.
Campuswide flu shot clinics for faculty, staff and students are 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29 and Tuesday, Nov. 3 in the University Center Ballroom, room 0224.
Students may pay by cash or check. Credit cards are not accepted outside of the University Health Clinic. Employee shots are provided free of charge courtesy of UT Health Science Center at Tyler.
Employees’ dependents and spouses will pay $25 per person to receive the inoculation.
Dependents and spouses do not have to be an active patient at UT Health Science Center at Tyler to be eligible. Those wanting to use Medicare to pay for the flu shot must come to the University Health Clinic to get their shot and must bring their Medicare card and driver’s license.
