Patriots and Turtles

Sophomore biology major Leila Nasr of Jacksonville; graduate biology student Ben Earls of Tyler; junior biology major James Boulger of N.J.; junior biology major Satia Richmond of Tyler; and senior chemistry major Ara Stewart of White Oak examine a box turtle on the UT Tyler main campus.

Dr. James Koukl, associate professor of biology, and students working in the UT Tyler Turtle Research Lab, study turtles and conduct various research program projects. The information gathered helps establish conservation practices for several turtle species.
