UT Tyler's First Mock Trial
April 30, 2009

Students in UT Tyler’s criminal justice program presented the university’s first mock criminal trial earlier this month at the UT Tyler Robert R. Muntz Library. “Mr. Robin Banks” was acquitted of murder and arson charges.
The students conducted the trial, with assistance from university faculty, distinguished members of the local legal community and general public. Major student-players were Natalie Hughes of Bullard; Tricia Mehler of Longview; Lorna Harris of Athens; Liz Green of Dallas and Maegan Westbrook of Whitehouse.
Officials hope to make the mock trial an annual event.
