UT Tyler Seeking Orientation Leaders
March 19, 2009
Orientation leaders are ambassadors of the university to new students and their parents and
family members. The responsibilities of the orientation leaders cover a wide range of activities including leading campus tours and serving as a mentor and resource for new students and their families.
University students returning for the 2009 fall semester may serve as orientation leaders with the UT Tyler Office of Student Life and Leadership.
To qualify, students must maintain full-time UT Tyler student status, be involved in at least one campus organization and maintain a 2.0 cumulative GPA.
“The students on the Orientation Planning Committee and I are very excited about this year’s New Student Orientation,” said Laura Jackson, student development specialist who oversees new student and family programs. “Our theme is ‘Quest for Excellence,’ and we look forward to meeting the group of orientation leaders who will help new students begin their journey at UT Tyler.”
Interested students may complete an application form located in Administration Building, room 345 or online at http://www.uttyler.edu/sll. Submission deadline is Wednesday, April 1.
