UT Tyler UC Addition Dedication

University officials, faculty, staff and students gathered for the UT Tyler University Center addition dedication ceremony and ribbon cutting held March 5 in the new UC Ballroom.

President Rodney Mabry, along with Joel Baker, Smith County judge; Michael O’Donnell, UT System associate vice chancellor for facilities, planning and construction; Dr. Howard Patterson, vice president for students affairs; and Kerrie Ambort, UT Tyler Student Government Association president, spoke at the event. Tours of the new facility followed the ceremony.

Renovation on the current UC continues. The target completion date for the renovation project is
April 2010.

Built in 1976, the UC is a place for students to meet, study, dine and attend campus events.
