U.S. Senator Visits UT Tyler

U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX) poses for a photo opportunity with students in a UT Tyler Ratliff Building South lab. The senator made a visit to UT Tyler Jan. 16 to hear a briefing on the university’s Sciences, Technology, Education and Mathematics Center.
UT Tyler was awarded a $1.2 million T-STEM federal grant in April 2007 to create the East Texas STEM Center.
Dr. James Nelson, UT Tyler College of Engineering and Computer Science dean, and Dr. Michael Odell, UT Tyler Celia and Sam Roosth endowed chair and School of Education interim director, serve as co-principal investigators for the grant project.
