UT Tyler Departments Relocating Due to UC Addition, Renovation
December 1, 2008
UT Tyler student affairs departments have relocated due to the University Center’s addition and renovation, Jesse Acosta, UT Tyler chief of staff, announced.
“This fall some departments are moving to temporary locations so we can begin work on the University Center renovation project,” said Acosta. “The renovation will begin after the Christmas break and will take only 18 months, after which, the departments will move to their new areas.”

“We apologize for the small inconvenience as students and staff operate in less than ideal conditions but the resources saved by using these temporary locations will let us spend more on student amenities in the new University Center,” Acosta added.
Two departments are moving permanently into the UC addition, which will be noted as UCN. The University Center’s three-story addition will feature a new plaza-level dining hall that will replace the Met Café, a second-story restaurant, a multi-purpose meeting room and office space for the student affairs division.
