Susan G. Komen On the Go™ Visits UT Tyler
October 14, 2008
The Susan G. Komen On the Go™ mobile will be on the UT Tyler campus 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15 in front of the University Center.
As part of breast cancer awareness month, the university community is encouraged to stop by the bus and gain an understanding about breast cancer and research efforts for the cure.
The bright pink vehicle converts into an interactive learning center featuring computer kiosks that give information on the breast cancer movement and how to do a breast self-exam as well as inspirational videos and a graffiti wall to share memories or pledge support for the cause.
Breast cancer screenings will not be available.
Currently in its fifth cross-country tour, Komen On the Go™ will be on exhibit more than 150 days in more than 50 communities this year. Komen is hoping to teach Americans everywhere to take charge of their breast health and to share information with friends about the breast cancer movement.
