Banned Book Week Read Out at UT Tyler

The UT Tyler Robert R. Muntz Library will observe “Banned Books Week: Celebrating the Freedom to Read” Sept. 28 – Oct. 4, Jeanne Pyle, Muntz Library director, announced.
The Muntz Library will hold its annual Banned Books Week Read Out Sept. 30 in the library’s reading area. Faculty, staff, students and members of the academic community may sign up and read for 15 minutes from their favorite banned or challenged books. Readings will begin at 10 a.m. and continue until 5 p.m. that day.
Observed since 1982, Banned Books Week is nationally sponsored by the American Library Association, American Booksellers Foundation for Free Expression, Association of American Publishers, American Society of Journalists and Authors and National Association of College Stores.
