UT Tyler Faculty, Staff Safety Net Training Aug. 12

UT Tyler’s first faculty and staff safety net training is set for Aug. 12, Kim Harvey-Livingston, counselor, announced.
The meeting is set from 4 – 6 p.m., location is to be announced. Training gives faculty and staff proper response and referral skills for victims of assault.
“These trained ‘Safety Net’ members will be known in the departments as a first contact who are safe and knowledge-based resources on campus,” said Harvey-Livingston. “The members of this group will be required to keep all information shared by a victim confidential.”
The training meeting is sponsored by the university’s Campus Assault Response Effort within the Office of Student Services.
