Dr. Jeffrey Mountain (left), associate professor of mechanical engineering, explained how to measure the capacity of a small scale air conditioning system to a team of student’s from John Tyler High School as part of this year’s Tyler Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs summer camp program.

The Tyler GEAR UP camp focused on science, math and engineering exploration.
The small scale systems were developed as part of a completed National Science Foundation funded project to attract and retain engineering students.
