Relay for Life Purple Day at UT Tyler

The University of Texas at Tyler community is invited to participate in the university’s Relay for Life Purple Day on Wednesday, March 19, Dr. Howard Patterson, UT Tyler interim vice president for student affairs and external relations, announced.
Purple Day will allow participants to wear purple to support Relay for Life and to honor and remember loved ones with cancer.
A mock luminaria ceremony also is set for noon the same day in the University Center. There will be guest speakers, music and a time to remember those lost to cancer.
This year’s UT Tyler Relay for Life event is set for 7 p.m. – 7 a.m. April 18 – 19 in the Herrington Patriot Center gym.
Both events are sponsored by the UT Tyler Colleges Against Cancer student chapter.
