March 3, 2008
Students at The University of Texas at Tyler have a volunteer opportunity with the Junior Achievement of Tyler, Dr. Lou Ann Berman, assistant vice president for student success, announced.
Junior Achievement is currently looking for volunteers to present business education workshops at local elementary schools. The workshops are five, weekly sessions that are 30 – 45 minutes in length.
“The goals of the workshops are to make economic concepts relevant, fuel the entrepreneurial spirit and challenge the students to excel,” said Garnesha Beck, UT Tyler’s AmeriCorps vista. “Workshops are age appropriate. JA provides the training, materials and support necessary to ensure a positive experience.”
