Croff Named Editor of UT Tyler's Student Newspaper

Anthony L. Croff, Mineola journalism major at The University of Texas at Tyler, has been named editor in chief of the university’s student newspaper, the Patriot Talon, Vanessa Curry, Patriot Talon adviser, announced.

Croff, a senior, was selected by Student Media Advisory Board members and will serve during the 2007-08 academic year. He succeeds Erin Buller, who graduated in May.

“I feel privileged to have been chosen to serve as the editor,” Croff said. “My hope is that students will utilize the paper as an outlet for their ideas and will view it as having a positive impact.”

He previously served as a staff writer and the wire editor for the Patriot Talon. Croff holds an associate’s degree in journalism from Tyler Junior College, where he served as a staff writer and opinion writer for TJC News.

In addition to being a full-time student, Croff also serves as the music director for New Hope Baptist Church in Mineola and regularly performs country music throughout the state.
