Congratulations on your upcoming graduation from UT Tyler! We are graduating our largest class ever this May with over 600 candidates. It is a very exciting time to be a part of UT Tyler – the state’s fastest growing university.
Earlier this month, you were sent information regarding reserved seat ticketing for guests at the Commencement Ceremony. Our records indicate that you have not picked up any guest tickets. Unfortunately, all of the guest tickets have now been distributed for the 10:00 a.m. ceremony.
We do have other options for you and your guests:
Additional Seating in the UC on May 6, 2006:
Additional seating will be available in the open area of the University Center for guests to view the ceremony on a large video screen. Tickets will not be required and seating will be available on a first come, first served basis. I will be in the UC to welcome your guests to UT Tyler
Change your Graduation Date to August 11, 2006:
You may change your graduation date to the Summer 2006 Commencement scheduled for Friday, August 11, 2006. If you choose this option you will not be required to re-apply for graduation nor pay the $10 application fee. However, you must submit a written request to the Registrar's Office not later than Friday, May 5, 2006. If this option is selected, the graduation date on your diploma and transcript will reflect August 11, 2006. There should be ample room at the August ceremony for you and up to six (6) guests. Should the number of candidates increase, arrangements will be made for additional seating.
Graduate now but participate in the August 11, 2006 Ceremony:
You may complete your requirements for graduation in May and have your graduation date posted to transcripts and diplomas as May 6, 2006, but participate in the Summer 2006 Commencement ceremony on Friday, August 11, 2006. Your name will appear in the May Commencement program and not the August program; however, you can have your name called and walk across the stage to receive a scroll. Candidates choosing this option must submit a written request to the Registrar’s Office not later than Friday, May 5, 2006.
