UT Tyler Hosts Tyler/Smith County Capital Projects/Tax Planning Symposium
The University of Texas at Tyler will host the Capital Projects and Tax Planning Symposium, featuring representatives from the major local taxing entities, at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 20 in the UT Tyler Braithwaite Recital Hall.
(The Braithwaite Recital Hall is located on the west side of the R. Don Cowan Fine and Performing Arts Center.)
Entities that levy local taxes and are scheduled to present information about future projects include the City of Tyler, Smith County, Tyler Junior College and Tyler Independent School District.
President Rodney H. Mabry will the lead the discussion with opening remarks, followed by remarks from each of the jurisdiction leaders, who will discuss general operations, funding, overview of planned capital improvements over the next 10 years and any projected effects on tax rates for the same period.
A question and answer period will conclude the discussion.
