ACS Recognized as “Outstanding”

The UT Tyler American Chemical Society student chapter has been recognized by the ACS national office as an outstanding chapter for its activities during the 2004-05 year.

The UT Tyler chapter is one of 32 chapters to receive this award, and will be honored March 26 at the 231st ACS National Meeting in Atlanta, Georgia.

In addition to the recognition, a note of accomplishment will be included in Chemical & Engineering News, the Society’s official national news magazine, and in Chemistry, the Student Affiliates’ magazine.

Drs. Brian Taylor and Neil Gray, UT Tyler associate professors of chemistry, serve as faculty advisors to the UT Tyler ACS chapter.

ACS has 970 chapters at colleges and universities in the U.S. and Puerto Rico.
