Houston Arts Week praised her Oscar from Verdi’s Un Ballo in Maschera, “Sooah Park shines as Oscar, and her singing is utterly delightful.” Houston Chronicle commented, “Sooah Park is excellent as Oscar the page and provides comic relief throughout the opera with her bright coloratura and her fine acting.”

Dr. Park’s performance experience includes a broad array of musical idioms and styles. She has performed in the countries of Brazil, Costa Rica, Mexico, Finland, and South Korea. She also appears frequently as a soloist in concerts and oratorios in Austin, Brownsville, and Houston communities. In recent seasons, she sang as a soprano soloist in Gounod’s St. Cecilia Mass and participated in a complete Mahler song recital.

She is also an avid recitalist. She has most recently performed a recital at the College Music Society regional conference in which she presented selections by Korngold and Marx.

Dr. Park’s vocal talent was recognized at 2007 Lois Alba Aria Competition where she was a finalist. Dr. Park was also awarded Honorable Mention and 3rd prize for National Association of Teachers of Singing Competition in 2005 and 2002.

Dr. Park was an adjunct voice faculty at the University of Texas at Brownsville from 2010 to 2012.
