Dr. Etienne Stoupy

Etienne Stoupy is an Adjunct Professor of high brass at the University of Texas at Tyler. He currently teaches trumpet, French horn, chamber music and brass method at the School of Performing Arts.  Dr. Stoupy hold also the position of Adjunct trumpet instructor at Texas Woman’s University in Denton. He currently teaches trumpet music students and is the assistant conductor of Texas Woman’s University Wind Symphony, Pep Band and Chamber Orchestra.
Dr. Etienne Stoupy is a native of France where he completed his undergraduate studies in trumpet performance at the Conservatoire National de Lyon.  He came to the United States in 2005 to pursue his Masters degree as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Memphis where he studied trumpet with Dr. David Spencer. As a student at the University of North Texas, he obtained a Teaching Fellowship while studying under Professor Keith Johnson.
Dr. Etienne Stoupy has performed with the Dallas Opera, Orchestra of New Spain, Corinth Symphony orchestra (Mississippi) and Orchestra de la U.N.A.L of Monterey, Mexico.
Dr. Stoupy is a member of the International Trumpet Guild, College Music Society, American Federation of Musicians and Texas Music Educator Association.  He is also the co-fonder of the Metroplex Brass Quintet, which performs frequently in the Dallas Forth Worth surrounding.
