Dr. Catherine Ross has been formally invited to participate in an NEH Summer Seminar, “The Aesthetics of British Romanticism, Then and Today,” which will take place here in Lincoln from 7 June to 9 July. Congratulations on her selection, which came as the result of a difficult process. The Organier of the Seminar,Stephen C. Behrendt,
George Holmes Distinguished University Professor of English at the
University of Nebraska--recieved many excellent proposals, including Dr. Ross's. In arriving at decisions about who to invite to participate, Prof. Behrendt drew upon the expertise of two senior colleagues, who were very much in agreement about the strength of Dr. Ross's application and the potential it seemed to us to suggest about your contributions to the collaborative work of the seminar. It promises to be a delightful group of energetic colleagues with wonderfully diverse perspectives upon their central subject matter and its issues. Way to go Dr. Ross!
