Student Counseling Center
Personal Counseling
Individual Counseling
Individual Counseling is offered in a confidential setting to assist students in achieving personal and educational goals. Often people have the misconception that counseling is the last thing to try- that only those who do not "have it together" can benefit from counseling services. Rather, the majority of people often need someone to listen and to help them clarify their own ideas and concerns. Some common issues that students may deal with in counseling are:
- Stress and Anxiety
- Transitioning to College Life
- ADHD
- Coping with Loss and Grief
- How to Help a Distressed Friend
Couples Counseling
Couples Counseling is available to currently enrolled students. Issues that may be involved in couples counseling are communication, problem solving, parenting, or conflict resolution.
Stress Management
Stress Management is available to students who want instruction and supervision in the use of these techniques. Time management, assertive training, and methods of relaxation training are available for handling a variety of situations.
Referrals
Referrals for alcohol/drug abuse, psychiatric evaluations, and other community services are available through the Student Counseling Center when a student needs additional assistance.
