Associate Professor of Mass Communication

COURSES
Dr. Matthews teaches Writing for Mass Media, Writing for Public Relations and Advertising, Principles of Public Relations, Public Relations and Advertising Campaigns, and Media Design. Research interests include meaning making, creativity and loss, the relationship of meaning making and critical thinking, and sense making in public relations/communication campaign development.

DUTIES IN DEPARTMENT
Graduate Program Coordinator for Communication, and Coordinator for the undergraduate program in Mass Communication.

ARTICLES
Articles have appeared in the Journal of the Philosophy and History of Education.

ORGANIZATIONS
She serves as a Faculty Senator representing the College of Arts and Sciences and also serves as Secretary for the University Faculty Senate.
