COURSES
Dr. Cali teaches in the areas of rhetorical criticism, interpersonal communication, intercultural communication, media ecology, media literacy, and media ethics.

ARTICLES
His scholarly articles have appeared in Communication Studies, The Journal of Mass Media Ethics, and The Journal of Communication and Religion, among others. He is also the author of the books Generic Criticism of American Public Address and Faith and the Media as well as other book chapters investigating how faith shapes the field of communication.

ORGANIZATIONS
Dr. Cali is a member of several national and international professional communication associations and serves on the editorial board of the New Journal of Rhetorical Studies.

Ms. Vanessa Joyner (M.F.A., Marywood University, Scranton, Pennsylvania)
joined the Communications Department at the University of Texas at Tyler as a Senior Lecturer in Journalism. She is responsible for teaching visual design courses that include publications design, visual design and computer software applications. Prior to moving to Tyler, Ms. Joyner was a graphic designer for 21 years with AT&T Yellow Pages in St. Louis, MO. For five years, she taught graphic design courses as an adjunct instructor at the University of Missouri St. Louis. Ms. Joyner has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Studio Art with emphasis in painting and an M.F.A. Master of Fine Arts degree in Art with an emphasis in graphic design.
