Vertebrate Natural History

Vertebrate Natural History Laboratory students went camping at Camp Tyler on January 27th, 2010. The class set Sherman Live traps to collect and identify native rodents. The fearless group camped overnight despite scattered showers in the area.

General Biology

Students participate in a new exercise component of General Biology and sample from UT Tyler's lake. This laboratory activities engages students as they learn ecological sampling techniques.

Students check their fruit fly cultures. This laboratory activitiy allows students to investigate independent assortment of two gene pairs: vestigial wings (chromosome 2) and sepia (chromosome 3)



Students examine chromatograph of pteridines from mutant Drosophila eyes as compare to the wildtype. Insert: chromatograph.



Students examine aquatic sample to determine biodiversity.
